The appearance and desirability of Williams Bay as a summer residence, and even as a winter resort, has been greatly improved by planting trees and shrubs along the streets and on public property and on private land. At the Observatory is the best experimental station for ornamental planting in Wisconsin.
There is one community park on the lake shore and a memorial park, in honor of Dr. E. B. Frost, on Geneva Street in the middle of town. There are convenient foot-way paths bordering the lake shore on the east and west sides of the bay while Geneva Street runs along the front or North end of Geneva Lake.
The community lacks organized recreation but natural conditions provide children with resources - swimming, boating by summer, and skating, sledding, tobogganing and skiing in the winter. A winter resort has been developed in the last three years on the northwest edge of the village. A ski jump and tobbogan slide with a shelter is fast becoming a popular resort.
Tennis courts are located at College Camp, as is the eighteen hole golf course. The school building is the scene of most all community get togethers. Support of a community hall seems impractical as the need is not yet immediate. A very active summer theatre group provides drama while the music resources are slim. Teachers give children lessons and there is a school band but community support would not be great enough for a musical undertaking. Resources for private recreation are approximately one hundred percent.
